Read about how much we love Heaven Hill Farm...

Thank you for letting us come to the farm for a great field trip. I asked the children to write about what they liked most about the trip and they liked chasing the little pig (that snuck out of his pen). I think you should add that to the farm adventure! Thanks again for a fun time!

--- Cheryl B., Ringwood Christian School

As a pregnant woman who has tried every apple cider donut in the area.. Yours are simply TOPS! You probably see my husband in there at least 3 times a week getting them for me!!! We were driving by on Sunday and I reduced myself to tears to get him to stop for some (Even with the crowds!)

Thank you guys so much for allowing my little guy to visit with your animals today even though you had no power. When we asked him what he wanted to do for his 4th birthday, all he could talk about was the animals. Thanks again and see you during pumpkin picking!

Humble Beginnings

The_Farm_Market__Nursery_w300dpiHeaven Hill Farm has come a long way since it was first established in 1982 as a roadside fruit and vegetable stand in Vernon, NJ.  Nestled in the foothills of the beautiful Appalachian Mountains, the 365 acre farm was purchased in 1961 by the Theobald family from John Fox a local cattle farmer. The Theobalds raised beef cows into the late 1970s, at which time they sold off the cattle as the beef business had become unsustainable. Following in his parents farming footsteps, Martin Theobald began growing produce and in 1982, he set up a roadside tent where he sold his harvest. Through the years, as the business grew, Theobald purchased an additional 7 acres adjacent to the family farm where he erected a greenhouse and the barn which began Heaven Hill Farm. As demand grew for farm fresh produce, flowers and plants, more greenhouses were added for the retail production.

farm_house_w300dpiIn 2001, the Theobald family sold 265 acres of the family farm to the State of New Jersey for the Green Acres Project. Martin purchased the remaining 100 acres including the original farm house, barns and outbuildings.

Today, Heaven Hill Farm boasts 10,000 sq. ft. of retail greenhouse space, 100 acres of farm land and 6,500 sq. ft. of retail space. The market is now a full service garden center offering annuals, perennials, shrubs, trees, local produce, baked goods, ice cream, sheds, giftware, grills, outdoor furniture and accessories, fountains, statuary, pots, arbors, trellises and a variety of unique country-style wares, too numerous to mention.

Theobald_Hay_Furniture_Barns_w300dpiOur dedication to assuring that our customers receive the finest quality products, superior customer service and unique entertainment shines brightest during our busiest time of the year throughout the Fall months.  Now in it’s 23rd year, the Pumpkinland Festival offers good ole country-fair-style activities including old-fashioned hayrides, pumpkin picking, visits with farm animals, seasonal carnival rides, corn stalk and hay mazes, a hay crawl, pig racing, gem mining, the Haunted Acres Hayride, fresh baked cider donuts, funnel cakes and so much more.

We welcome you to visit the farm where you will be sure to create great memories year after year with your group, your family, your friends, and with all of the staff here at Heaven Hill Farm.
