Look for our Children's Gardening Club beginning in Spring 2010.

 

 

Children love to be kept busy and if we can get them outdoors in the fresh air, learning as they go, then that's a plus. They develop a keener interest and accomplish more gardening in a group than they ever would at home. Let them come and join in the fun; the gardening bug can bite at any age. At the Heaven Hill Farm Children's Gardening Club, little growers are taught the skills of planting and growing, from sowing seeds to harvesting crops. Each week we cover a different topic with an emphasis on the importance of 'Locally Grown'.

 

Getting the younger generation interested in gardening can be as simple as giving them some quick sprouting seeds and a small pot or patch of ground to work with. We find that gardening opens a whole new world to children. They take an interest in the wonder of living things, the earth and their community.
